It's been a while since I posted but here we go again! My son and family came to us just before Christmas and we celebrated Olivia's birthday as well on the 19th December. Here they are below, making Christmas cookies at our house. My daughter in law has far more patience than I ever had!!! You can see the snow out the window!

Below, they are going out on the snow machines, my son has a child in front of him, not sure which one and the dogs are finding the whole thing very interesting!

Abigail has a little friend the same age as her who has leukaemia and spends a lot of time in hospital and she like to write him lots of letters. She wanted to write one from Gramma's house and here she is mailing it with a doggy escort!

Olivia below, opening her birthday card and below that, in her birthday dress which she later puked all over and I spent the rest of the time trying to get the stains out!!

We only have two bedrooms so we have to get the most from the second one. We have two double beds and on the top of one is a single bed and in the family room we have a double futon so we have seven extra sleeping spots quite easily managed. The girls are playing on the top bunk in this pic. Ethan has the stand alone bed and Olivia sleeps in the bottom double. It all works quite well!!

Just a pic of two of our dogs leading a dogs life!

Olivia above and Abigail below modelling the watermelon hats and coloured jackets I made them.I knit a lot for all the kids but they wanted their picture taken so here they are!

Just a little something of interest! I don't know to whom but we found it interesting and sad. A little mouse who had been trapped in this electrical box in our kitchen and we didn't know it so the poor thing starved to death. I don't mind people killing mice as long as done humanely and quickly but the thought of this poor little thing starving under my nose is not nice.

Lovely pictures and wonderful times with family.

I can remember making sugar cookies and decorating them when I was a child. It was such a traditional part of the Christmas season.

I used to make them here with some neighood children when they were young.

What fun to have your son and his family to visit. I enjoyed seeing all the pictures and I did not realize that you knit. The girls look adorable with the treasures you knit for them. I love your sweet dogs taking it easy on the bed. They look very comfortable and loved! I know it's sad and quiet when the little ones leave. Hope they will get to visit again soon.

I know lots of memories were made at grandma's house! Love the snow. We have a small house too with beds, cots, pull out beds from the sofa's etc so there is room when everyone comes. Just wish they all came more often. Your dogs must be related to mine as that is where they have been spending much of their days lately. LOL

HI Jenny, I love seeing pictures of your kids/grands... Those two little gals (Olivia and Abigail) are so sweet in their new sweaters and hats... You do a great job with the knitting.. That is something I never learned to do.

Thanks so much for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy

Great catch-up post. :-)

Lovely pictures and happy times, and a bit of sadness at the end. Guess this is a bitter/sweet post, then. As is, all of life.

Hi Amelia!

what beautiful grandchildren! I love the Christmas cookie pictures, what a fun memory for them to remember forever! Their sweaters and hats are adorable!

I love the dogs - they are just so cute! What would life be like without our furry friends? Speaking of that . . . poor little mouse! I'm not a fan of mice running around in my house, but they are cute and have their place in this world... :0)

I hope Spring arrives soon, I'm sick of the snow and cold - looks like you are having a plentiful winter also! But, I guess I would complain if it was too hot! Enjoy the moment!

Hugs,
Barb
